England manager Thomas Tuchel has recalled Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer to the Three Lions squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign, marking a return for both players after they were left out of England’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Alexander-Arnold, who now plays for Real Madrid, returns to the national team for the first time since June 2025, while Chelsea star Palmer also earns a recall after missing the World Cup.

Tuchel has named a 27-man squad, with Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha, Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, Jarrad Branthwaite, Lewis Hall, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also included.

England will open their Nations League campaign against World Cup champions Spain at Wembley on September 26, before facing Czechia and Croatia during the international window.

The recalls of Alexander-Arnold and Palmer will be among the biggest talking points as Tuchel begins reshaping his squad for the new campaign.
