The grandest competition in European club football came to an end after PSG win 4-3 on penalties after extra-time.
They successfully defend their crown to join the rare list of sides to complete back-to-back titles.
Arsenal’s search for a maiden win will have to wait, at least for another season, but their disappointment shouldn’t take away from what was a successful league campaign. PSG joins Real Madrid, which won three successive titles between 2016 and 2018, as the only team to successfully defend the Champions League since the competition was rebranded in 1992.
For Arsenal, who ended their 22-year-drought to win the Premier League this season, the wait goes on to claim a first European crown.
