Black Starlets of Ghana head coach, Laryea Kingston has announced his resignation following his team’s defeat to Burkina Faso.

The hosts fell to a 2-1 defeat against the Burkinabes in their semi-final tie at the WAFU B U-17 Championship on Saturday night, while Holders Nigeria lost 1-0 to Cote d’Ivoire in the second semi-final also Saturday. 

The defeat cost the Black Starlets and Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, a place at the 2024 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, as only the finalists qualify.

Ghana will face Nigeria in the third-place match tomorrow Tuesday.
