Prince Harry to return to Britain for Invictus Games anniversary

April 29, 2024

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, will make his return to the UK for a significant occasion – the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games.

Scheduled for May 8th, the thanksgiving service will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

During the ceremony, Prince Harry will play a role by delivering a reading, adding a personal touch to the event. Actor Damian Lewis is also set to participate, reciting a poem as part of the proceedings.

This occasion marks Prince Harry’s first major event in the UK in some time. His last visit was in February, where he made a brief trip to see King Charles following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.

The Invictus Games, a sporting event designed for military personnel wounded in action, was launched by Prince Harry in 2014. Since its inception, the Games have become a symbol of resilience and camaraderie among service members.

According to a spokesperson for the Games, the anniversary ceremony will commemorate “a decade of changing lives and saving lives through sport,” underscoring the profound impact the Invictus Games have had on participants and communities alike.
