Veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe has died

Zulu Adigwe, a veteran Nollywood actor, passed away. The actor passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He gained fame for his portrayal of Mr. B in Ken Saro-Wiwa’s soap opera Basi and Company (1987).

The news was confirmed by the movie producer Stanley Nwoko on Instagram.

I regret to announce the passing of a veteran actor, late Mr Zulu Adigwe. What caused his death is yet to be reviewed. Rest in peace good actor,” Nwoko said in his post.

At the time of reporting it was not clear what caused his death.

The most recent role that Adigwe performed was that of Pascal Nworie in Ramsey Nouah’s adaptation of the beloved Living in Bondage.

At first, Adigwe had not pursued a degree in theatre. He had enrolled in a short-term medical programme at the University of Austria. He completed his elementary and senior schooling in Austria as well. However, following the passing of his father, he went back to Nigeria to attend the University of Ibadan to study theatre arts.

Adigwe acted in numerous Nollywood films during the course of his career, such as Forbidden Land, Blood of the Orphan, Blood Diamonds, Face of a Liar, Unforgettable, and Issakaba.
