Manchester United boss Michael Carrick has rejected Elliot Anderson’s claim that Manchester City are the current “kings of Manchester.”

Anderson, who recently joined City from Nottingham Forest, made the bold statement ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby.

Carrick, however, refused to accept the label, insisting United remain focused on competing at the highest level and reclaiming their place at the top.
