Diaspora Creatives Awards 2026 Set to Celebrate African Talent in Atlanta
The inaugural “Stars Beyond Borders” ceremony will honour African creatives and entrepreneurs worldwide, with Beat 99.9 FM named exclusive Nigerian radio media partner.
The Diaspora Creatives Awards (DCA) is set to hold its inaugural ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 21, 2026, bringing together African creatives, entertainers and entrepreneurs from across the global diaspora.
The event, themed “Stars Beyond Borders,” will take place at Atlanta Virtual Studios and celebrate the contributions of African talents making an impact across music, entertainment, film, culture and business beyond the continent.
The ceremony is expected to bring together musicians, DJs, producers, dancers, filmmakers, media personalities and other cultural figures for an evening of recognition, performances and networking.
According to the organisers, the awards were established to spotlight Africans building successful careers and businesses internationally while strengthening cultural connections between the continent and its diaspora.
The inaugural edition will feature 34 award categories spanning music, creative arts, entertainment, culture and entrepreneurship. Nominees were put forward by members of the public, with entries representing creatives from different parts of the world.
Speaking about the vision behind the awards, DCA founder Onor Alofoje said the initiative aims to connect African creatives whose work and influence extend across international borders.
Alofoje noted that many African talents are making significant contributions in different countries, but their stories and achievements are not always connected or adequately recognised on a global platform.
He explained that DCA hopes to create a space where creatives from cities such as Atlanta, London, Toronto and Lagos can have their work celebrated and remembered.
Beat 99.9 FM Joins as Exclusive Nigerian Radio Media Partner
In a major development ahead of the ceremony, The Beat 99.9 FM has been announced as the exclusive Nigerian radio media partner for the inaugural Diaspora Creatives Awards.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the awards’ visibility in Nigeria through on-air programming, digital content and social media coverage.
According to the announcement, the station will support nominee publicity ahead of the event and spotlight the winners after the ceremony, connecting Nigerian audiences with African creatives making their mark internationally.
The collaboration also reinforces the awards’ central message that African creativity transcends geographical boundaries while maintaining strong ties to home.
A Global Platform for African Creativity
Beyond recognising individual achievements, the Diaspora Creatives Awards aims to create stronger connections among African artists, entrepreneurs and cultural voices across different countries.
The November ceremony will mark the beginning of the platform’s efforts to document and celebrate the influence of African talent on the global creative economy.
With Atlanta set to host the first edition, the organisers are positioning DCA as a meeting point for creativity, culture, entrepreneurship and the African diaspora.
The inaugural Diaspora Creatives Awards 2026 will take place on Saturday, November 21, at Atlanta Virtual Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
