NYSC Issues Fresh Warning to Prospective Corps Members Ahead of Orientation Camp
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a fresh warning to prospective corps members ahead of the next orientation exercise, urging them to strictly follow registration guidelines and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
According to reports by The Punch, the scheme cautioned prospective corps members against patronising cybercafés, middlemen, or individuals promising preferential postings or assistance with the online registration process. NYSC stressed that all registration and mobilisation procedures should only be carried out through its official channels.
As reported by The Nation, the agency also advised prospective corps members to ensure that all personal information and documents submitted during registration are accurate, warning that false declarations, forged certificates, or multiple registrations could attract sanctions, including disqualification from national service.
The scheme further reminded candidates to report to their assigned orientation camps on the stipulated dates with the required documents, adding that anyone who fails to comply with registration and camp guidelines may face delays in mobilisation.
Meanwhile, Daily Trust reports that the NYSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent mobilisation process, urging prospective corps members to remain vigilant and disregard misleading information circulating on social media.
The latest advisory comes as thousands of graduates across the country prepare to begin their mandatory national service, with the NYSC assuring participants that all official updates will be communicated through its verified platforms.
